Nagoya Station West Gate

This camera covers the Taiko-dori exit on the western side of Nagoya Station. It is the quieter face of the complex: where the eastern Sakura-dori side is all department stores and glass towers, the west opens onto older streets, small restaurants and a working neighbourhood.

The Shinkansen platforms sit directly above this side of the station, and the exit is the usual approach for the Aonami Line and for buses heading west across the city. Bic Camera and the Esca underground arcade, known for its Nagoya-speciality restaurants, are both a short walk from the frame.

Because it serves residents more than shoppers, the traffic here spreads more evenly through the day than on the east side, and the view stays legible at night when the eastern plazas empty out.
