Narita Airport Runway A (South)

Chiba LIVE --:--:-- JST

About the Narita Airport Runway A (South) Camera

This camera watches the south end of Runway A at Narita International Airport in Chiba. Runway A is the airport's main strip at 4,000 metres, long enough for the heaviest long-haul aircraft, and it carries the bulk of Narita's international movements.

Narita is Japan's principal long-haul gateway, so the aircraft mix here differs sharply from Haneda's. Wide-bodies dominate, and the liveries run through most of the world's major carriers along with a substantial share of dedicated freighters.

The airport operates under a night curfew, which shapes the rhythm on screen. Movements stop during the restricted overnight hours, then build quickly through the morning as the long-haul departure banks go out and the overnight arrivals from Europe and North America come in.

Highlights & Nearby

  • Watch for: takeoffs and landings on Runway A, wide-body aircraft, freighter movements
  • Nearby: Narita Airport Terminals 1, 2 and 3, Narita city, Naritasan Shinshoji temple
  • Note: the airport observes a night curfew, so movements pause during restricted overnight hours
